October Board Meeting Now History

The Brethren Encyclopedia board met in the archaeology room of Ashland (OH) Theological Seminary on Monday, October 19, 2009, with chairman Robert Lehigh presiding.
The Rev. Ike Graham gave devotional thoughts, and Jim Gibbel gave a financial report. A number of routine agenda items were discussed, including publications currently in process, updates to the BE website, and appreciation to Ronald Lutz and Claire Ulrich for their many years of service to the Brethren Encyclopedia project.
The book "Celebrating a Past--Envisioning a Future" was introduced, and is now available on this website, containing the proceedings for the 300th anniversary celebration in Schwarzenau, Germany, in early August, 2008. Preliminary discussions were held regarding the Fifth Brethren World Assembly, which is tentatively slated to be held in the Brookville, Ohio, area in 2013.
Brother Michael Miller gave some updates from his group's annual meeting, and several other items were discussed. The next meeting of the Board is set for Monday, April 19, 2010, at Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, Ohio.
